Dr. José Andrés Parra Atencio brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to ICÓNICA Dental Group. His focus at ICÓNICA is cosmetic dentistry, restorative care, and oral rehabilitation using ceramic and composite materials.
He combines thoughtful treatment planning with an eye for natural-looking dental esthetics. His bilingual approach supports clear communication throughout each patient’s care.

A Foundation of International Training
Dr. Parra earned his dental degree at the University of Zulia in Venezuela in 2001. His advanced education includes postgraduate implant dentistry training in Venezuela and restorative and cosmetic dentistry studies at the University of Maringá in Brazil.
He completed a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Nova Southeastern University in 2026. His Master of Science in Dentistry and AAID MaxiCourse studies at Nova Southeastern University are in progress.
Precision in Ceramic & Composite
At ICÓNICA, Dr. Parra focuses on cosmetic and restorative dentistry and oral rehabilitation in ceramic and composite. Treatment planning considers each patient’s smile goals, dental structure, bite, and long-term function.
His experience includes veneers, crowns, bridges, and comprehensive rehabilitation. A background in ceramic layering and dental laboratory work informs his attention to detail, supported by digital workflows including Exocad, CAD/CAM, and 3D technology.
A Commitment to Sharing Knowledge
Dr. Parra’s commitment to dentistry includes sharing knowledge with colleagues. He has authored two books on veneers and comprehensive treatment planning, contributed scientific publications, and lectured on restorative and cosmetic dentistry and digital workflows.
He also served as an instructor for nine cohorts of The Art and Science of Smile Design, helping fellow clinicians develop their approach to dental esthetics.

Dr. Parra brings together clinical dentistry, dental laboratory experience, and advanced residency training. His patient-centered approach emphasizes clear treatment plans that support both functional and esthetic goals.
In 2025, he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi at Nova Southeastern University. At ICÓNICA, his experience supports carefully planned cosmetic, restorative, and rehabilitative care.
