FAQ'S
Frequently Asked Questions about All-on-X
How much does the All-on-X procedure cost?
All-on-X is a significant investment in your health, function, and quality of life. The cost is all-inclusive, covering the surgery, the temporary bridge, and the final permanent bridge. Because every case is unique, we will provide a transparent and detailed quote during your complimentary consultation.
Do you offer financing for All-on-X?
Yes. We partner with leading financing companies like CareCredit® and Cherry to offer flexible payment plans. These options make it possible to fit your new smile comfortably into your budget.
Does dental insurance cover All-on-X?
While most dental insurance plans offer limited coverage for this type of major procedure, we will work with you to maximize any available benefits. In some cases, medical insurance may cover certain aspects of the surgery. Our financial coordinator can help you navigate this process.
Can I really get new teeth in a single day?
Yes. The protocol allows for the placement of implants and the attachment of a beautiful, fixed, temporary set of teeth on the same day as your surgery. You will leave our office with a fully functional and aesthetic smile. You will wear this temporary set while your implants heal before receiving your final, permanent bridge.
Is the All-on-X surgery painful?
No, you will be completely comfortable during the procedure. We use effective anesthesia, and Dr. Garcia’s honors training in Advanced Techniques in Pain and Anxiety Management informs our protocol to minimize discomfort both during and after the surgery.
What is the recovery like?
The initial recovery period lasts about one to two weeks. You can expect some swelling and soreness, which is managed with medication. We will provide detailed instructions and recommend a soft-food diet during this time. Most patients are able to resume non-strenuous activities within a few days.
Who is a good candidate for All-on-X?
The ideal candidates are individuals missing all or most of their teeth, current denture wearers who are unhappy with their prosthesis, or those with teeth that are failing due to extensive decay or gum disease. A 3D scan during your consultation will allow us to determine if you are a candidate.
What if I've been told I don't have enough bone?
The All-on-X technique is specifically designed to maximize the use of available bone by angulating the implants. Dr. Garcia is also an expert in Bone Grafting and Regenerative solutions, so even if you have significant bone loss, we can often still find a solution for you.
How is All-on-X different from traditional dentures?
The difference is life-changing. All-on-X teeth are permanently fixed in your mouth—they do not come out. They don't cover the roof of your mouth, allowing you to taste food fully. They also allow you to bite and chew with nearly the same force as natural teeth and they prevent future bone loss.
How do I clean my new All-on-X teeth?
You will brush your bridge just like natural teeth. However, to clean underneath it, you will need special tools like a water flosser (e.g., Waterpik) and specific types of floss. We will provide you with a detailed hygiene plan and show you exactly how to care for your new smile.
How long do All-on-X implants last?
With proper care and maintenance, the dental implants themselves are designed to last a lifetime. The prosthetic bridge attached to them is very durable but may need maintenance or replacement after 10-15 years or more, similar to any other advanced dental work.
What are the final teeth made of?
Your final, permanent bridge is typically milled from a solid block of a highly aesthetic and durable material like Zirconia. This material is incredibly strong, resists chipping and staining, and offers the most beautiful, natural-looking aesthetics.
What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?
All-on-4 is the original concept, using four implants. All-on-6 uses six implants. The number of implants used is determined by Dr. Garcia based on your specific jaw size and bone quality. Using more implants can provide additional support and distribute biting forces more evenly. Dr. Garcia’s advanced training in Implant Placement (All on X) Course Training covers all these protocols to select the best one for you.
What is the success rate for All-on-X?
The All-on-X protocol has a very high rate of success, with numerous studies showing long-term success rates of over 95%.
What is the first step to get started?
The first step is a complimentary consultation at our Hallandale Beach office. This includes a 3D scan and a personal discussion with Dr. Garcia to determine if you are a candidate and to answer all of your specific questions.
